Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy Millan is reminding property owners about critical updates to the 2024 property tax process, which includes extended deadlines and early payment opportunities to assist residents recovering from the impact of Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Delayed Mailing of Tax Notices: Property and tangible tax notices, typically sent out on November 1, were mailed on November 25. This adjustment ensures property owners have adequate time to plan and make payments. The 4 percent early payment discount is extended through December 31. This extension gives property owners additional time to maximize savings. Payments can still be made at any time, despite the delayed mailing. The 2024 tax bills reflect property values assessed as of January 1, 2024. Damage caused by Hurricanes Helene or Milton will not be reflected in this year’s assessments.
