County Commissioners Present Proclamation to Tax Collector’s Office for Governor’s Sterling Award Achievement
Hillsborough County Board Recognizes Tax Collector Nancy Millan and Team for 2025 Sterling Award Excellence
TAMPA, Fla., August 6, 2025 – The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office was honored today with a proclamation from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners recognizing the office as a recipient of the prestigious 2025 Governor’s Sterling Award. The proclamation was presented during the Board’s regular meeting on August 6, 2025.
The Governor’s Sterling Award represents Florida’s highest recognition for performance excellence among state and local government organizations. The award acknowledges organizations that demonstrate superior management approaches resulting in significant achievements in quality and productivity.
“I am deeply honored by this recognition and incredibly proud of our entire team,” said Tax Collector Nancy Millan. “This award reflects the dedication and commitment of every member of our office who works tirelessly to serve the residents of Hillsborough County with excellence every single day.”
During the proclamation ceremony, Tax Collector Millan highlighted the office’s commitment to innovation and accessibility of services. She emphasized the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer experiences through modernized processes and expanded service options.
“Our focus remains on providing amazing customer service to our community,” Millan stated during her remarks to the Board. “We will continue to innovate and improve our services with the goal of being the best Tax Collector’s office in the state of Florida.”
The Sterling Award evaluation process examines leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, measurement and analysis, workforce focus, operations focus, and results. The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office demonstrated excellence across all categories, earning this distinguished recognition.
