Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy Millan Joins U.S. Rep. Castor and Other Local Elected Officials to Kick Off Centro de Bienvenida

Tampa, FL — February 23, 2023

Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy Millan will join U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, Florida Rep. Susan Valdes, and other local elected officials for media availability as they kick off a Centro de Bienvenida.

Tampa and Hillsborough County have seen an influx of Cuban and Venezuelan migrants. Numerous local partners have established this Centro de Bienvenida to assist these newcomers with navigating school placement, skills training, health care, the job hunt, and other services.

“The Tax Collector’s office is often the first point of contact for new resident, as getting a driver license or identification card is critical before receiving any services or applying for work or housing. For that reason, collaborating with other community organizations and government agencies to share educational materials and resources is essential to making their process easy when they come to our offices,” said Nancy Millan. “I thank Congresswoman Castor and Representative Valdes for kicking off this much-needed campaign,” she continued.

The event will be at the Egypt Lake Recreation Center at 3126 Lambright St., Tampa, on Friday, February 24th, at 10 a.m.

Those in attendance will include U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL14), Florida Rep. Susan Valdes (District 64), The Honorable Nancy Millan, Hillsborough County Tax Collector, Hillsborough County Commissioner Harry Cohen (District 1), and The Honorable Karen Perez, Hillsborough County School Board (District 6).
