Hillsborough County Tax Collector Reopens for Normal Operations Thursday, August 31st

Tampa, FL — August 30, 2023

Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy C. Millan announced that the Tax Collector Offices will reopen on Thursday, August 31st for operations. The offices were closed due to Hurricane Idalia.

“We are grateful that our team and facilities were not severely affected by the storm and can resume providing essential services to our community,” said Nancy Millan.

Residents who had appointments scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday can either reschedule their appointments at hillstax.org or have them honored over the next two weeks.  Due to closures from Hurricane Idalia, the Tax Collector’s office expects an influx of customers for the next two weeks.  “We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to serve our customers as quickly as possible,” said Millan.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will remain closed on Thursday, August 31st, which may also impact service delivery and functionality of state systems.  Millan also notes that Governor DeSantis signed an Executive Order (flhsmv-eo-082623-invest-93l.pdf (floridadisaster.org)) that extends deadlines for driver license and motor vehicle registrations.

As a reminder, Tax Collector’s offices will also be closed on Monday, September 4th, for Labor Day in observance of the County holiday.

Customers are encouraged to avoid visiting the offices and pay online whenever possible at hillstax.org.
