Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office Expands Services with Saturday License Services

TAMPA, Fla., April 9, 2025 – Hillsborough residents can now access both student driving services and adult driver license renewals in one convenient weekend visit. The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office is launching a special Saturday License Services on April 19, 2025, from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Brandon Office (3030 N Falkenburg Rd.), offering a time-saving solution for busy families and individuals.

This expanded service day will provide driver license & ID services for students, including road tests, knowledge tests, and driver license and learner’s permit issuance. Additionally, Hillsborough County residents with a driver license issued in 2018 or earlier will be able to complete their license renewals during the same hours.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to better serve our community by making essential services more accessible,” said Tax Collector Nancy Millan. “By combining student services with resident driver license renewals on a Saturday, we’re responding to the growing demand while making it easier for our customers to take care of these important matters without disrupting their weekday schedules.”

In the next three years, nearly 490,000 driver licenses and IDs will require renewal in Hillsborough County, with approximately 200,000 residents required to visit an office in person. This surge in demand has our offices currently serving more than 4,200 customers daily, approaching 5,000 during peak periods. To accommodate this unprecedented demand and provide additional service options for our residents, we’re offering this special Saturday event. By extending our service hours beyond the typical workweek, we aim to serve those who cannot visit during regular business hours and help reduce wait times during this critical renewal period.

“We encourage residents to check their license expiration dates and take advantage of the ability to renew up to 18 months in advance,” added Millan. “This can help avoid the expected rush as the 8-year renewal cycle peaks in 2025.”

How to Schedule Your Appointment

All services on April 19 will be by appointment only. Residents are encouraged to call (813) 347-4386 to schedule their appointment. Specific requirements apply for all knowledge and road tests, and proper documentation is required for license renewals.
