Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office to Close at 12PM on Wednesday, September 25th and Will Remain Closed on Thursday, September 26th Due to Hurricane Helene

Tampa, FL — September 24, 2024

In response to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Helene, the Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office will be closed starting at 12PM on Wednesday, September 25th and will remain closed on Thursday, September 26th.

The Tax Collector’s Office encourages customers who do not have an immediate need for service to take advantage of online services at hillstax.org or visit their offices upon re-opening after the storm.

Continued Updates: As the storm progresses, the Tax Collector’s Office will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates regarding any additional closures through their website hillstax.org and on social media platforms. Please check for ongoing updates.

Online Services Available: While Tax Collector physical offices are closed, their website hillstax.org is available 24/7 for residents to access essential services. Many transactions can be done so online, including:

  • Vehicle registration renewals
  • Property tax payments
  • Driver License status checks

In addition, customers needing to renew their vehicle registration can use the convenient self-service kiosks located at eight Publix supermarkets throughout the county. Please note, these locations will operate pending Publix’s hours and any storm-related closures. For kiosk locations, visit hillstax.org.

“Our top priority is the safety of our community and our team,” said Nancy Millan, Hillsborough County Tax Collector. “Now is the time for all of us to complete our storm preparations and stay informed. We are committed to keeping our customers connected to our services online during this time, and we will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.”
