STUDENTS CAN CRUISE INTO THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SPECIAL “STUDENT SATURDAY” EVENT FROM THE HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR’S OFFICE

Students are encouraged to book appointments early as availability is limited

TAMPA, Fla., November 13, 2024 – The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office is bringing back its highly successful “Student Saturday” event this Saturday, November 16, at the East Tampa office, located at 2814 E. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.Designed to make driver license services more accessible for students, the initiative allows Hillsborough County high school and college students to complete their written or driving skills tests on a weekend, avoiding the need to miss school or work.

“Our Student Saturday events continue to receive incredible feedback from parents and teens alike,” said Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy C. Millan. “These events reflect our commitment to providing accessible, convenient services that meet the needs of our community.”

In previous events, families have expressed appreciation for the convenience and student-focused atmosphere. Parent Renee Nelson praised the initiative, saying, “This made life so much easier not having to take time off work or school for our teen to get their permit. It was fast and fun. The entire staff was upbeat. They pushed the teens to advocate for themselves and had the parents take a ‘backseat’ as the child navigated the process. Super impressed!”

Appointments for the November 16 event are available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Tampa office. Written and driving skills tests are offered exclusively to students with a valid student ID who meet eligibility requirements. Due to high demand, students are encouraged to pre-register as soon as possible.
