Tag & Title Work Procedures for Drop-off or Mail-in Work

Dealers, title service companies, tow companies, and financial institutions can submit tag and title work through our drop-off or mail-in service.

Tag and title work dropped off at the Tax Collector’s office or mailed to our authorized partner, Dealer Tag Agency, Inc. (DTA), is processed by DTA.

Before You Drop Off or Mail

  • Include the Drop-Off Cover Sheet with all work
  • All work must be complete and ready to process
  • Package work in a folder or envelope with a check made payable to Dealer Tag Agency, Inc. (one check per five transactions)
  • Clearly mark any special requests: purchase plate (3 months), purchase plate (15 months), transfer only, transfer and renewal (one or two years), title only, Fast Title request, etc.
  • Include proof of insurance and a copy of the registration if transferring plates

Identification Requirements

  • All title work submitted without a Florida driver license or identification number must include a copy of the identification used to verify the applicant’s identity (DHSMV TL-01)
  • All Florida driver license or identification numbers that cannot be verified in FRVIS will be returned for a copy of identification

Additional Requirements

  • Dealers must provide their state-assigned PIN with each group of transactions (our office is not authorized to keep this information on file)
  • If a dealer’s license is revoked, cancelled, or suspended, or if an unredeemed dishonored check is outstanding, transactions cannot be processed without prior arrangements and appropriate authorization
