Obtaining Motor Vehicle Record Information
As of September 30, 2010 the Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s office will no longer provide access to the electronic retrieval of a motor vehicle record via the Motor Vehicle Lookup System; due to legislative changes contained in SB 971 (2010). These changes have made it inefficient and economically unfeasible to continue to maintain the system.
Other options to obtain data from the Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS):
- An Authorized Service Provider
- Complete and submit a form HSMV 90510 to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) with the appropriate fees.
- Retrieve a free Motor Vehicle Check with limited information via the DHSMV website.
