Community Involvement

Outreach Programs and Events

The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s office is dedicated to community involvement. While our primary goal is to provide excellent customer service, our organization has taken an active role in community initiatives that focus on educating the public, promoting public awareness and giving back to our community.

The Tax Collector’s staff participates in various community events such as Metropolitan Ministries’ Holiday Drives, American Heart Association’s Heart Walk and American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Some of these drives are during a time of year when employees are preparing for the holidays with their own families, however our organization always contributes generously to help others who are less fortunate.

Awareness Initiatives

Through our public awareness programs, our goal is to raise the awareness of the general public and other key community stakeholders about the services we provide as well as increase the understanding of real estate & tangible property tax, tourist development tax and business tax receipts. As agents of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, we also have the responsibility to ensure our customers are well informed of driver license requirements and motor vehicle titles and renewal processes.

The HCTC public awareness and promotion campaigns are designed to assist and support outside organizations in marketing and promoting initiatives that have a positive impact on our community and our customers. We strive to ensure all promotions and fundraising events align with our mission, vision and core values.

In addition, our office actively participates in community outreach initiatives throughout Hillsborough County.

The programs serve as an invaluable tool in creating partnerships between our office and the people we serve.

Giving Back to Our Community

Our contributions and volunteer efforts help create a stronger, healthier place for our customers and employees to work and live.

We promote caring for others in the community by giving back to individuals who, in some cases, are unable to care for themselves.

Our office is active in community initiatives, which are essential in building employee morale and creating a team spirit. Our employees participate in and provide monetary and in-kind support of our approved fundraising events that benefit charitable organizations.
