FROM IN-PERSON TO INBOX: TAX COLLECTOR’S OFFICE ENHANCES HOW RESIDENTS STAY INFORMED

New quarterly digital publication offers one-stop resource for tax services updates, community programs, and important deadlines

TAMPA, Fla., July 31, 2025 – The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office today announced the launch of its first-ever external community newsletter, offering residents a comprehensive quarterly resource for staying informed about services, deadlines, and community initiatives. This innovative communication channel represents the latest effort by the recently honored 2025 Sterling Award-winning office to enhance transparency and accessibility for the residents it serves.

“This newsletter is our way of bringing the Tax Collector’s Office directly to you,” said Tax Collector Nancy Millan. “We’re committed to making sure every resident has easy access to the information they need, when they need it. Whether it’s hurricane preparedness resources, new legislative changes, or opportunities to support our community through programs like Kids Tag Art, this newsletter will be your trusted connection to information.”

The inaugural edition brings service information and resources available to Hillsborough County residents right to their inbox, including:

  • Critical Legislative Updates: New driver education requirements for teens, expectant mother parking permits, and property tax relief initiatives
  • Community Impact Programs: The Kids Tag Art program, which has raised over $143,000 for school art programs since 2021
  • Consumer Protection: Alerts about toll violation text scams targeting local residents
  • Hurricane Preparedness: Essential resources and office contingency plans for storm season
  • Service Enhancements: Expanded Saturday services, new smart locker technology, and improved customer intake processes

The quarterly newsletter will feature:

  • Upcoming tax deadlines and important dates
  • New service announcements and office updates
  • Community event information and partnership opportunities
  • Spotlight features on innovative programs and services

The launch represents a significant milestone in the office’s ongoing digital innovations, which include enhanced online services, social media engagement, and now direct-to-resident communications.
