HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The annual Great American Teach-In happens Thursday at local schools introducing students to hobbies and careers.
The presentations from guest speakers reinforce the importance of education for success in any occupation, Hillsborough County Public Schools said. County graduation rate reached an all-time record high of 88.8 percent last year.
“The Great American Teach-In offers our learners a stimulating look into the careers of tomorrow by inviting community members into classrooms to share their experiences with a new generation,” Superintendent Addison Davis said. “This important initiative sparks curiosity and excitement for our children as we continue to prepare them to become successful full-option graduates with fulfilling careers. Exposing learners to new professions today can change the trajectory of their life tomorrow, and we thank our community members for collectively coming together for children.”
Some of the guests showcasing careers and hobbies during the Teach-In will include: law enforcement officers, bankers, electricians, athletes, medical professionals, jewelry makers, and IT specialists.
