Hillsborough County Tax Collector Announces change in service hours

TAMPA, FL – (September 27, 2017) – Effective October 4, 2017, all Hillsborough County Tax Collector branch offices will open at 9 am on Wednesday mornings. “Opening late once a week will allow my employees to focus on critical operational and procedural updates, training, and staff communications,” Belden states. The Tax Collector’s new Wednesday hours will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Office hours on all other weekdays will remain 8:00am to 5:00pm, except on scheduled Hillsborough County holidays.

Currently, the Tax Collector receives several procedural updates and technical changes each month from state agencies such as the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles that must be deployed to staff promptly to ensure compliance when transactions are processed. Required training, procedure updates, staff meetings, and various process improvement activities will be deployed during this one hour on Wednesdays, which translates to reduced overtime costs, improved productivity, efficiency and service for customers. “This extra hour each week will allow us to meet the needs of our employees so they can provide the best possible service to the citizens of Hillsborough County.”
