Hillsborough County Tax Collector Brandon office relocates to their own new building.

Tampa, FL — April 7, 2014

TAMPA, FL – (March 27, 2014) – Doug Belden proudly announces the relocation of the Brandon office to a newly constructed Hillsborough County Tax Collector owned building in the Brandon area which is scheduled to open its doors  on April 15, 2014.  The new office, located at 3030 N. Falkenburg Road, is a 20,000 square foot facility equipped with 32 customer service stations, and a staff of 46.

The new Brandon office will be the largest of seven branch offices and is the Tax Collector’s first owned facility which will accommodate the increase in customer traffic as well as an additional 50,000 transactions per year expected from next year’s closing of the state Driver License office in the Brandon Crossings Shopping Center.  “We were already at capacity at the existing Brandon office and once the state closes that nearby office, we would have been overwhelmed,” Belden said. “Working with the County Administrator, Mike Merrill, and the Board of County Commissioners, we were able to come up with a solution that saves the taxpayers money. “

The office was designed with the customer in mind, leveraging a new modern layout coupled with a queuing system that will help tax collector employees assist customers quickly and efficiently. The $3 million building was a capital expenditure that will realize a return on investment in less than 5 years by eliminating the existing commercial office lease.  Belden noted the building was completed three months ahead of schedule and came in on budget.  Belden is also proud the building should save taxpayers over $400,000 a year once the office recoups its initial investment.

Services offered at this location include motor vehicle titles and registrations, business tax receipts, hunting and fishing permits, property tax, driver license services and eventually birth certificates. The current Brandon office located at 2211 N. Falkenburg Road will permanently close its doors on April 4th, 2014.  We encourage customers to utilize our convenient online services, including renewals, duplicates and change of address. “I can’t say enough about how well all the county agencies worked with the Tax Collector’s Office to make this a reality,” Belden added.
