Hillsborough County Tax Collector Doug Belden donates masks to local nursing home facilities.
TAMPA, FL – (May 6, 2020) During this time of unprecedented crisis in our country and our community, special medical supplies are in short supply, even for critical health care facilities. Hillsborough County Tax Collector, Doug Belden took action this week, and donated the Tax Collector’s Office masks to local nursing home facilities.
“It is our privilege to donate these critical supplies to our community’s facilities,” Belden said. “I commend them for their efforts to assist some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Their dedication to providing crucial healthcare services has not gone unnoticed.”
The N-95 and surgical masks, which were part of the Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s safety supply inventory, were donated to six facilities on March 24, 2020. Each facility received approximately 1,100 masks. In an effort to donate to the facilities most in need, Belden reached out to The Home Association, a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the life and viability of The Home Association building and grounds so it can continue to serve those in need. Per the advice from The Home Association, the six facilities receiving masks from the Tax Collector’s office are Whispering Oaks, Habana Health Care Center, Excel Care Center, Ybor City Healthcare and Rehab, The Home Association, and Transitions Home Health.
