Hillsborough County Tax Collector Doug Belden Reopens Offices.
Tampa, FL — May 26, 2020
TAMPA, FL (May 22, 2020) Hillsborough County Tax Collector Doug Belden announces the reopening of additional offices on Tuesday, May 26 to customers with appointments only. All the Hillsborough County Tax Collector offices will reopen except for the Downtown office and the AAA office located in the Westshore business district. The branches will open Monday thru Friday from 8 am – 5 pm, except on Wednesdays, 9 am -5 pm.
Services at the Brandon, Drew Park, East Tampa, North Tampa, Plant City and Southshore offices will be available by appointment only; customers are encouraged to conduct business online when possible.
Services provided are:
- Driver’s licenses and ID cards services, except for road testing
- Commercial driver’s licenses – CDL
- Written driving tests
- Vehicle, vessel and mobile home tag and title
- Property tax payments
- Disabled parking placards
- Hunting and fishing licenses
- Birth Certificates; and
- Concealed Weapon Permits – offered only at the North Tampa office
Road testing is scheduled to resume in June, using new remote driving test procedures. The new road test procedures will enable the examiner to maintain proper social distancing while administering the test.
To assist us in protecting the health and safety of everyone, all offices will adhere to strict social distancing policies that every customer must follow in order to be served. Customers with appointments should note the following;
- Only customers with appointments will be allowed in the office.
- Customers will be asked a series of screening questions and have their temperature taken before they enter the office per CDC guidelines. Customers with a fever exceeding 100.4 will not be permitted to enter;
- All customers are strongly encouraged to wear face masks
“I encourage our customers to utilize our virtual office as an option to conduct business, our website offers you the convenience of completing common transactions online without the need to visit our offices.” Belden said. Many transactions can also be completed by mail. The agency recommends customers schedule an appointment for transactions that require them to be present such as driver license renewals, driver license examinations, or title work.
