Hillsborough County Tax Collector Doug Belden Reopens Two Offices.
TAMPA, FL (April 30, 2020) Hillsborough County Tax Collector Doug Belden announces he will reopen two offices to customers with appointments only on May 4. The branches scheduled to open are the Brandon office located at 3030 North Falkenburg Road and the Drew Park office located at 4100 West Martin Luther King. Jr. Boulevard. The offices will open Monday thru Friday from 8 am – 5 pm, except on Wednesdays, 9 am -5 pm.
The gradual reopening of offices is part of the Tax Collector’s COVID-19 business continuity plan. The agencies’ strategic approach to reopening branch offices prioritizes the health and safety of customers and staff while meeting CDC guidelines. “The leadership team for the Tax Collector’s office has put a comprehensive COVID-19 mitigation plan in place that protects the health and well-being of our customers and employees, while balancing the service needs of our community.” Belden said.
Services will be available by appointment only; customers are recommended to conduct business online when possible.
Services provided are:
- Driver’s licenses and ID cards services, except for road testing
- Commercial driver’s licenses – CDL (excluding hazmat endorsement);
- Written driving tests
- Vehicle, vessel and mobile home tag and title;
- Property tax payments;
- Disabled parking placards;
- Hunting and fishing licenses; and
- Birth Certificates
To assist us in protecting the health and safety of everyone, both offices will adhere to strict social distancing policies that every customer must follow in order to be served. Customers with appointments should note the following;
- Only customers with appointments will be allowed in the office.
- Customers will be asked a series of screening questions and have their temperature taken before they enter the office per CDC guidelines. Customers with a fever exceeding 100.4 will not be permitted to enter;
- All customers are strongly encouraged to wear face masks
In order to protect customers and the employees while conducting business, plexiglass barriers have been installed at each service window.
Despite the branch closings, the office quickly adapted and remained open to serve customers online, over the phone or through the mail. Innovation and creativity have played a major part of serving customers, and our team has used website and social media extensively as a resource for communicating and informing customers. The office also introduced the newest member of the team Hilly, the chatbot, designed to answer common questions and guide online users.
“We’re taking a phased and methodical approach to reopening our offices. We will monitor and regularly evaluate as we move forward before announcing when other branch locations may reopen.” said Nancy Millan, Director of Community Relations.
